Blog sale goodies and FOTN

I've been wanting to try a cream blush for ages so when I spotted the Maybelline peach satin dream mousse blusher on Pyxie's blog sale I didn't hesitate to buy it. I also brought the Maxfactor false lash effect mascara to try out as I have the shortest straight lashes so need all the help I can get. She very kindly sent me a fruit smoothie face mask as well, which I shall be using to detox my skin over the Xmas holidays.

I've only used powder blusher before so I was worried about how to apply it but its actually very easy to use, I simply get some on my fingertip, dab it onto my cheeks then blend in. As the name suggests the blusher is a gorgeous shimmery peachy colour that adds a really natural hint of blush to the cheeks but can also be layered for a more intense colour.

I used both these products for my make up last night when I went to a friend's house party to celebrate the end of term:

Loreal studio secrets smoothing resurfacing primer
MAC studio finish concealer
Loreal touche magique
MAC mineralize skinfinish natural
Maybelline dream mousse blush in peach satin

Clinique colour surge eyeshadow duo in victorian pink
ELF brightening eye colour in drama
Maybelline liquid definer liquid eyeliner
Primark black eyeliner
Maxfactor false lash effect mascara

Carmex lipbalm
Natural collection clear lipgloss

  1. Great purchases, have ummed and arred about this blush.. still cant decide!! :) Emma

  2. Im gonna pick up that mascara this week too, heard a lot of good things about it.

Gorgeous FOTD as always hunny. You're beautiful.

  3. i like the way u did ur makeup! looks very natural :) i'm hopeless at it hence i always shop ard wifout any make up on. but i'll luv to learn the ropes! any starter tips for me? =D

  4. Emma- You should get it, its gives such a subtle glow to the cheeks and its so easy to apply, I've worn my almost everyday since it arrived x

  5. Mica- I'm no expert but my 4 staple items are concealer, blusher, mascara and lipbalm/gloss. If you have any dark circles or blemishes then definitely invest in a concealer as it makes such a difference, blusher gives a gorgeous glow to the cheeks and mascara can really bring out the eyes. I think the best advice is to just experiment and find out what suits you the most. You can always visit a cosmetic counter for some advice and tips as well. Hope that helps x
