Glossybox January 2014

Yesterday the first Glossybox of 2014 landed on my doorstep and the theme this month is Back to basics. They've gone for a slight redesign with the packaging too - gone is the old matte pink design, instead there's now a glossy pink box with the products nicely wrapped up in a branded bow. All very nice changes, but as always it's the products inside that really matter:

As first impressions go, I have to say I'm really impressed with the products they've chosen this month. There are 2 mini tubes of Yu-Be moisturising skin cream, floral Vintage cosmetic company tweezers, Balance me super toning body wash, Vaseline essential moisture body lotion and a pack of Anatomicals under eye patches - all really essential products that I already use or could easily be Incorporated into my every day routine.

My only complaint is that there seems to be an Anatomicals product in nearly every beauty box. Whilst I've always liked their products, it's starting to feel a little repetitive and it would be nice to see Glossybox introduce some newer brands. As always there's a mini magazine too, which this month is filled with top tips for detoxing and toning up as well as the usual advice columns and mini product reviews.

Overall, a well thought out, useful and varied box of products. I hope this sets the trend for 2014 and I'm looking forward to seeing what they've got planned for the rest of the year!

  1. I stopped subscribing a little while ago because I felt I just wasn't get much use out of the boxes but I think something like the contents of this one I would get loads of use out of.

  4. Would love to hear what you think about the Yu-Be moisturiser. I've seen it quite a few times in Boots but have yet to come across a review.

    1. It's quite a thick moisturiser, so great for small patches of dry skin, but probably not something that I'd use all over. Very handy for winter though x
