New additions to my morning skincare routine

Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit oil free moisturiser
Since using a BB cream, my skin has become increasingly oily, and with the weather warming up, I decided to give oil free moisturisers another go.

This particular one has a thick creme gel texture, sinks in quickly, has a matte finish and is the perfect base for any make up. Like the rest of the grapefuit range, it smells amazing, and I love how refreshing the zesty scent is in the mornings.

The moisturiser doesn't contain any SPF, so I always follow it up with either my No 7 BB cream or another sunscreen. My skin still gets shiny by the end of the day, but it does offer some level of oil control and I find myself needing to blot less compared with my previous moisturiser.

Olay total effects 7 in 1 moisturiser sensitive protection
Used alone, this gave me spots, however on make up free days, it is my sunscreen of choice. The moisturiser looks and smells like a traditional sunscreen, but it is more liquid in texture and feels a lot lighter on the skin.

Used on top of the Neutrogena moisturiser, it takes about a minute to sink in, and leaves my skin with a slight dewy finish.

I do wish that it offered UVA protection as well, but despite the nourishing formula, it works well on my combination skin and I like the fact that it has anti-ageing benefits.

Have you tried either of these 2 products? What's your favourite daily sunscreen?

  1. Thank you for giving a review on the grapefruit moisturiser, I've had my eye on that product as I'm huntin for an oil free moisturiser. I was wondering does the moisturiser feel sticky when applied on the skin? Thank you much xx

    1. You're welcome. The moisturiser does feel quick thick during application, but once applied I don't find it to be sticky at all x

  4. I would like to try this as Botanics are discontinuing my favourite 'before-makeup' moisturiser - I'm just gutted this has no SPF!

    1. That's so annoying, I hate it when companies discontinue a favourite product! I hope this will make a good alternative x

    1. Mine was a PR sample. The moisturiser is relatively new, but it should be in stores very soon if it isn't already x
