Benefit they're real! mascara review

First thing to say is that I love the packaging of this mascara. The metallic silver tube looks fun yet expensive, and stands out from all the other mascaras in my collection.

The rubber brush has some flexibility and consists of short uniform bristles along the length of the brush as well as the tip.

Pigment wise, this is one of the darkest mascaras I've come across. Usually I need 2 coats for depth of colour but with this one coat was enough. The downside is that it is prone to smudging mid afternoon and it takes a little longer to remove.

As you can see from the photo, it does lengthen my lashes a little, but it does a better job of separating and volumising my lashes. It is also very good at holding a curl and helps to lift my outer lashes.

At £18.50, it is one of the more expensive mascaras in my collection, but also one of the best. I just hope they'll bring out a waterproof version soon!

Have you tried this mascara? What's your favourite Benefit product?

  3. I've never tried this, I was tempted for a while but the price really put me off. I feel you can get just as good drugstore mascaras. So I spent my monies on Benetint instead. Which is amazing I love Benetint and really want to get high beam but again pennies must be saved.

    1. Good choice, Benetint is amazing, I love using it as a longlasting lip stain. Did you get any of the Glamour minis last year? x

  4. This looks amazing on your lashes. I really like this mascara, I did find that it smudged a little when I applied it to my lower lashes but apart from that it's one of the best I've tried recently. x

  8. I tried this mascara and was quite disappointed as I LOVE benefit, but this takes me ages to apply to get a look I am happy with and AGES to take off...even when I think I have got it all I occaisionally still wake up with smudges. I will be doing a compare and contrast post on this mascara soon...

    1. It's so disappointing when you try a product you don't like. Compared to other mascaras it does take longer to remove, but I do love how dark it is x
