New CID cosmetics - The Bodyguard collection

Living in London, there's always a huge variety of West end musicals and theatre shows on offer. The Bodyguard recently started showing at the Adelphi theatre, and rather excitingly, they've teamed up with New CID cosmetics to launch an exclusive new make up collection:

If like myself you've never watched the film, then The Bodyguard is all about singer superstar Rachel Marron, who's fame has earned her a rather crazy stalker. Frank Farmer is employed as her bodyguard, and although hostile at first, she soon takes a liking to him. I won't spoil the plot completely, but I will say that you can expect plenty of romance, thrills and big musical hits!

As official sponsors of the musical, New CID cosmetics have decided to launch a Bodyguard inspired make up collection. Inside the starry gold and black presentation box you'll find 5 items, all of which represent The Bodyguard, both by colour and by name.

Of the 3 long wear cream eyeshadows, Melody is a beautiful smokey shimmery grey, Diva a rich metallic purple and Spotlight a pearly pink cream highlight colour. There are also 2 light up lip glosses. Obsession a shimmery fuschia and Romance a pale iridescent shimmer.

In terms of formula and pigmentation, the product are exactly what you'd expect from a high end brand. The eyeshadows are a particular favourite of mine as they're so light and moussy in texture, blend out easily and last well throughout the day.

Make up aside, if you get the chance to, then I would definitely recommend going to see The Bodyguard. It was a little cheesy and overdramatic at times, but the plot was more than enough to carry it through. The suspense had me gripped till the very end and the Whitney Houston sing along was rather fun too!

Have you seen either the movie or the musical? What do you think about the new make up collection?

  1. I think this collection is a bit too on the cool colour side for me but love the fact that it's a collection based on a musical. Brands always seem to do collections/palettes for films so think this is really interesing :)

    1. You're right, make up brands often sponsor musicals, so I'd love to see more collections and palettes in the future x
