Maybelline the falsies mascara

I have the shortest straightest lashes ever, so mascara is an essential for me if I want my eyes to stand out. I'd heard a lot of good things about this particular one so was really pleased when a PR company offered to send me one to try out.

'The pro-keratin and fibre enriched formula is designed to attach to
lashes you didn't know you had and create a false lash effect by
thickening and lengthening the lashes. Our patented spoon brush fans
out lashes and ensures generous product deposit. Our unique flexible
stem helps to build volume without clumping'

The mascara comes in a chunky purple tube with a slightly curved and flattened brush. I really like the brush shape, as it seemed to grab hold of my lashes easily and coat them evenly with mascara without any clumping.

The first coat darkens and lengthens my lashes, and the second coat volumises and lengthens to give a more dramatic look.

(two coats on left eye, no mascara on right eye)

Because the brush is quite wide I wiggle the side of the brush against my bottom lashes and one coat is enough to make them stand out. If I'm not careful I can end up with black smudges underneath although this is easily removed by wiping away with my finger.

I find the mascara lasts well throughout the day and there was minimal smudging. Athough the results aren't as dramatic on me as on most other people (thanks to my ridiculously straight lashes) it definitely lengthened and volumised my lashes, which helped to define and make my eyes stand out.

Overall I really like this mascara and would definitely consider repurchasing when this one runs out.

Have you tried this mascara? What is your favourite mascara for dramatic eyelashes?

  2. BeauMakeUp- Thanks lovely. That's a shame, you've probably already tried it, but I find zigzagging it first then brushing through gives the best results x
