Madara tinting fluid review and swatches

During my exam period, make up was not a priority, but having gotten used to wearing foundation, I soon found myself reaching for Madara tinting fluid everyday to help even out my skin.

When I first tried it, I was a little disappointed as it didn't seem to give much coverage. However after a few uses, I realised it helps to even out my skintone and can be layered for a little more coverage. It also contains subtle illuminating particles to help brighten the skin.

The fluid contains a range of plant extracts, so not surprisingly it smells very herbal and green. Despite the differences in colour, it really is very sheer and I can get away with using both shades on my NC25 skintone.

(L-R: Moon flower, Sun flower and MAC face and body c2 for comparision)

As it's a light fluid, it sinks in very quickly and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. It has a natural spf of 8, but I would recommend using an extra sunscreen on top.

Whilst this won't replace my MAC face and body, I do think it's a good alternative to foundation and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this as the weather gets warmer this summer.

Do you tend to switch to a lighter coverage in the summer? What are your favourite tinted moisturisers?

  1. I never wear liquid foundation as it tends to look heavy on me if I put just a tiny bit too much. I do use BareMinerals but that can look too heavy too if I've powdered too much but with a light-hand, it's good. I mianly use BB cream or a light compact-foundation as I find that goes on lighter. Have you ever tried BB cream?

  2. Bee - Sadly not, although I've been looking at a lot of reviews recently and really want to try the Skin 79 hot pink and the Missha one x

  4. I am so thrilled I found swatches of the Moon Flower because I'm lemming to get this! It's not too pink is it? Is it worth the $50? Either way, I have to order it so I can try it. I want to look glowy :) xx

  5. jennie - It's great for summer as it's so much lighter than a foundation. Your skin always looks flawless in your photos, I bet you could get away with some tinted moisturiser x

mary♥cate - Glad the swatches are helpful. It's definitely not too pink, I'm yellow toned and it looks very natural on me x
